Courts have sanctioned lawyers for filings that cited cases that do not exist, and in 2026 the consequences reached suspension and disciplinary referral.
Research on legal AI tools points to a quieter risk. The work comes back faster and more polished without reliably coming back more accurate. A draft that reads well is easier to trust and harder to check.
Bar guidance tells lawyers to verify AI output. It rarely specifies what to check, or what happens when a check fails. Thomas calls that gap verification theater. PriorityLex was built to close it.

Every draft leaves a record.
PriorityLex works to a four-layer method Thomas published for lawyers, judges and regulators to test. Checks with a right answer run against authoritative sources. A reviewer that did not write the draft tries to break it. What neither can settle goes to the attorney with its reason and its source, and the decision is written down.

A method protects you only when someone applies it on every assignment. That is the job of a PriorityLex Star Player: a human legal assistant trained in AI-assisted work who prepares the record, runs the checks and hands your attorney the questions that need a lawyer.
Thomas designed the Star Player Training Academy to teach the method through the work itself. The April 2026 curriculum includes 40 classroom hours, a required conflict-check gate, a timed mid-program assessment and a final capstone. Two cohorts have entered the Academy, with about fifteen participants in November 2025 and twenty-five in April 2026.
Your attorneys spend their review time on judgment, and that is where the capacity comes from. A firm can take on more matters and keep work it might otherwise refer out. Where a matched professional’s language skills fit the assignment, clients can be served in their own language.

Thomas Potter was admitted to the Colorado bar in 2002 and has worked across corporate contract management, immigration litigation and venture capital. Before founding PriorityLex, he built and ran cross-border operations in Colombia and the Philippines.
He wrote The Verification Duty as Architectural Specification, designed the Star Player Academy and the Legal Quality Standards, and teaches attorneys the same approach.
