PriorityLex brings together legal representation, AI capability for law firms and municipal governance. Its foundation is the work of founder Thomas Potter: attorney, business operator, AI workflow designer, educator and author.

Thomas was admitted to the Colorado bar in 2002 and holds a JD and MBA from the University of Colorado Boulder, along with a BA in English from Colorado College. His career has involved the work that sits between a professional decision and its execution: negotiating agreements, leading legal and contract teams, building operating systems and training people to use them.
His legal work has spanned corporate contract management, immigration litigation and venture capital, and his corporate roles covered contract management, strategic sourcing and organizational change at companies including United Airlines, Xcel Energy, Lafarge and CenturyLink. He also founded and operated Priority BPO, building cross-border operations in Colombia and the Philippines, which informs how PriorityLex defines support roles and makes remote work usable inside a client’s organization.
Developing AI capability from the workflow up
Thomas’s preparation included four months of intensive AI training with a data scientist and AI engineer, followed by four months applying that work to legal practice. He developed operating procedures, verification workflows and supervision protocols, then translated them into the Star Player Training Academy.
He also created the PriorityLex Legal Quality Standards, a reusable set of instructions for AI-assisted legal work covering how facts and sources are treated, what requires verification, how unresolved questions are identified and where attorney review belongs.
His applied work extends to training infrastructure. With Quo, he developed an automated practice-drill system using its AI connection. With Clio, he coordinated Academy access and training environments. PriorityLex received Colorado Recognized CLE Provider approval in April 2026, and a course Thomas teaches for attorneys was accredited for general and ethics credit that month.
Scholarship on verification and professional responsibility
Thomas is the author of The Verification Duty as Architectural Specification. The working paper examines how the duty to verify legal work can be expressed in the architecture of an AI-assisted practice, connecting deployment configuration, programmatic verification gates, independent adversarial review and concentrated human judgment. The distinction matters because a mechanical check, a source interpretation and an attorney’s decision answer different questions.
Strategy study and responsible AI research
BlueDot Impact selected Thomas for its AGI Strategy program. He was also selected for the BASE Fellowship’s Fall 2026 cohort, beginning October 5, 2026, where his research preparation with mentor Chantal Shaib concerns bias and error in AI-assisted legal document production.
